Advice needed on Widower's Pension and Tax due

Good morning, can someone plz help me. My wife died 8 years ago, I worked for myself, until 2019. I now am I PAYE work. The revenue are saying I owe x amount, as I was unaware that the widower pension was taxable income. Please help, my mental health is really affected by it.
Does anyone know anyone who is an expert.
 
It is taxable income.

Strongly recommend you get a tax adviser on board to negotiate repayment terms for you; especially include any extenuating cirumstances, illness etc

Best case, I would think, will be to adjust your tax credits over the next 4 years.

Thanks spoke to a revenue expert today and they told me they will not address anything until I work out what is owed for when I was working for myself 2017, 2018. I thought I was unable to go back that far..
