hi, there was an add on the radio about giving a property to i think a local authority. they would get tenants and guarantee rent for 4 years. would anyone have a link to information about this. friends of mine in France have a place in Kildare and are looking for more info. cannot find anything myself.

The add you heard is probably for the RAS (Rental accomadation scheme). If your friends searches the Kildare county council website they will find info on the scheme or search this site & I remember reading about it here before. Your friend should be weary of RAS as there is a reason why there has been such a low uptake in this scheme since it was introduced a few years back.

I too heard that ad on radio.

Brother has 2 properties with one local authority and 1 with another in Dublin.

He finds them very efficent and not a problem to date. Fingers crossed! Money in the bank for 5 years guaranteed and great tenants.

It all depends i guess- lucky him
