Accommodation in Bordeaux

We are going to Bordeaux for four nights - has anyone got any recommendations of a pension/bed and breakfast or a small hotel. We have gone into the usual web sites and bedandbreakfast.com but if anyone has been there recently & could suggest something it would be great. We would prefer to be quite central and not majority expensive.

Hotel Magestic is a beautiful, quaint french hotel in the centre of Bordeaux, situated beside the Opera house. We stayed there 2 years ago. Check out trip advisor for some more honest reviews.

I stayed in Hotel St Catherine about 2 years ago. Very reasonable rates, and it was just off the main shopping street so very central. It's in the Quality Hotel chain of hotels. The rooms were basic but clean and comfortable. There was a small fridge in the room too which was handy for drinks and snacks.
