Personally, I've never found such apps much better than just using the mobile browser, and often worse. E.g. I always found the XDA app too complicated and frustrating compared to just using the browser.

I much prefer a desktop/laptop. But AAM is place I only stop into when killing time. Usually when I've only got a mobile with me.
