250K deposit

Hi, I have 250K which I want to put somewhere 100% guaranteed for 6 months. I don't care if the rates aren't great, just that I can get at it in 6 months and it will be there no matter what short of governments going bankrupt. At the moment it seems the post office is about it. Am I right?
Northern rock seems to be under protection for a limited period so I'm wary going that route.

An Post should be fine, assuming it and the government don't go bust.

It is 100% state guaranteed, protected until 2011 and has a better rate than An post. Why choose An Post?

There is no mention of 2011 on Northern Rocks webpage. What they state is

"The guarantee arrangements will remain in place during the period of temporary public ownership and, as previously confirmed by the UK Government, such arrangements would not be withdrawn without at least three months notice in any event"
