Don't know if there's a quick way to do what I want to, but I'm hoping an Excel expert out there can tell me one!
I've got two Excel files. Database 1 is a list of products that are in use by the company. There is one main column (product number) and then various columns with company-specific stuff such as location. I want to add an extra column (product class code).
I have a second master database that has loads of products (the company only uses a subset of these). It has two columns – product number (same as product number in database 1) and class code (the element I want to add to database 1).
Is there some way I can get a formula to do the following?

- Look at the product number in database 1.
- Find that product number in database 2 and get the associated class code.
- Add the class code from database 2 as an extra column in database 1.
