Hi - we are all currently on Laya Control 600 Connect, considering renewing to Control 600 Total, wondering if there's a better option, particularly for our son.

Hi gingerly,

Control 600 Total is a very good plan - as long as you are ok with the 600 excess to pay if you are admitted to a private hospital for surgery or a
stay in hospital.

For your son, I would recommend checking out the following plans, details as follows;
If you don't mind the 600 excess in private hospitals, the following plan maximises day to day refunds. The other 2 plans have a lower excess.

1. Control 600 Secure; price 237pa; all public, private(including private room fully covered) + 3 hi-tech hospitals covered. Private/hi-tech
hospital excess 600 per admission or 175 excess per day case procedure. Excellent day to day cover on this plan, refund of 40 per gp visit,
100 refund per consultant visit etc.

2. Control 300 Create; price 257pa; all public, private(including private room fully covered) and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered. Private/hi-tech
excess 300 per admission. Day case excess 125 per procedure. Very good day to day cover included, refund of 80 per consultant visit, 40 per
gp visit, etc.

3. Simply Connect; price 275pa; all public, private and 3 hi-tech hospitals covered. Private/hi-tech excess max 150 x 2 per year for all private
hospital admissions, day case excess 50 per procedure. There is no excess to pay in any public hospital. Good day to day cover included,
refund of 50% for gp visits, consultant visits, dental etc. - subject to a max refund of 500 per year.

All childrens hospitals in Ireland are public hospitals but the 3 hi-tech hospitals in Dublin cover a range of childrens surgery, which are included
on the above 3 alternative plans. The lower excess would be an advantage if using these hospitals.
