Hi, posting for a friend who has an 03 Opel Zafira. Neither of us are great on the car lingo so bear with us..... About a month ago the exhaust exploded (huge bang). This seemed to be a problem with the catalytic convertor and as money was tight at the time, my friend agreed with the garage to replace the exhaust and replace the cat convertor in a while and the garage said they would try to get a second hand one (thus driving without a cat convertor for a while). Car ran fine for about 3 weeks. However, in the last week it has been losing power. Might be fine for 40 miles and then very suddenly (and scarily especially at night) power will go out of the car. Then will be fine for another while. Garage scratching their head a bit ... just wondering if anyone would have any ideas. Thanks.
