Wrote incorrect amount on cheque

I wrote six hundred instead of seven hundred on a cheque to a Government department. Can I cross out the six and write seven and the same for the 6 with 7 and inital both changes - is this still ok to do?
 
Yeah - the €0.15 wasted stamp duty isn't going to break the bank presumably?
 
Lets just assume Charlotte is on a desert island with just the one cheque left....
 
Very funny guys, I left the chequebook at home and brought the cheque with me and I just want to send it off today. Also re the 15 cent = minding the pennies etc......

Write another cheque for €100. That way you won't be wasting anything.

Actually you might be able to get the €0.15 back from Revenue if you bring the unused (albeit abortively written) cheque and stub back to them if you are really concerned about it.
