working while on maternity leave

hi

i was just wondering if it is possible to work while on maternity leave? i was hoping to do some part time lecturing (1-3 hrs per week) while on paid and unpaid maternity leave. is this allowed does anyone know or will it impact the paid maternity leave entitlement?

If you work while on maternity leave then you will lose your entitlement to Maternity Benefit. Whether or not working while on maternity leave will also affect any contractually agreed non statutory salary payments from your employer may be down to what's in your contract of employment.
