Hi,

I am currently living in Ireland and travel across the border to Northern Ireland every day for work... As such, I am paying income tax/national insurance through the British tax system.

This year, I will be completing the build of an investment property which will be subsequently rented out.

As I will have income from both sides of the border, how will I pay tax...
  1. Pay all tax liable through the UK tax system?
  2. Pay income tax through UK and rental tax through Ireland?
  3. Pay all tax liable through the Irish tax system?
Thanks in advance for your response.

Re: Working in UK, Living in Ireland - Income from Both!!!

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone could shed any light on this question yet. I am earning about 28,000 euro in Northern Ireland and will be getting rent of 12,000 euro p/a from a house located in the Republic of Ireland next year. I am living in the Republic of Ireland.

Thanks,

Ronan

Would this be where double tax agreement comes in ??

You will have to submit a return in Ireland and you will be required to include your Northern Ire salary on that return also.
