Briefly..have been working for the same company for over 10 years now. Initially had a 3 year contract. Was never given a new one when that expired. New HR person horrified that most staff are in that position so I have been issued with a new contract for my job as a permanent position.
New contract contains clauses less favourable than my original one eg redeployment used to say with the consent of the employee, new contract just says can be redeployed at any time. Am I obliged to sign the new contract or can I insist that under custom and practice I can work to the terms of the one that expired over 7 years ago as I have been until now.
