My grandfather left a Will worded as follows:

I give, devise and bequeath everything of which I may die possessed including my house and land to my son to hold in trust for my daughter Mary to use, as he at his absolute discretion shall think fit for her benefit and the benefit of her three children and I appoint them my residuary legatees and devisees

discretionary trust or life estate ?

The solicitor who drew up this Will is dead unfortunately. I was just wondering if the wording in wills is deliberate and exact or if it is open to the interpretation of the reader
