Personally, I definitely would not put a wooden floor in a bathroom. I'm sure you will be very careful with spillages etc., but it's the unexpected leaks, etc. that'll cause the problems. A friend of mine has a good laminate floor in his bathroom but it doesn't seem to have stood the test of time. I think tiles, while a bit colder, are a better option.
We have red deal panelling half way up our bathroom walls. It still looks nice, years later, but, being thin, the individual panels have all "bent" inwards in the centre. Not sure if that's from dampness from having showers there or from the heat in the bathroom.
