Hi ,can any one tell me if packs of wood flooring are sold in sq meter or sq yards?

I have a room ,size 27 x 18 square feet, and am having trouble converting it to sq m and / or sq yards( was never my strong point).

Basically I need to know how many packs of flooring I need .. ?
Thanks

do you mean its 27 x 18 foot which is 486sq foot which is roughly 45 sq meters

Try this online conversion tool.

The pack should clearly state whether the coverage area specified is in square metres or yards. Often, they'll state both.

Thanks Leo;
27 square foot = 2.508 382 08 square meter
18 square foot = 1.672 254 72 square meter
using Leos suggested conversion tool..that would mean my measurements would be 4.1 sq meters?
Its very difficult to find an online conversion that I can put in my 27 x 18 sq foot and convert it to sq meters,its the same with the one you suggested I have to put in each measurement ie; convert the 27 feet first and then the 18 and then add the two?, which I did and this is the result I got (as shown above).

Don't convert the 27 and 18 first.

Do the multiplication 1st to get your sq ft, then convert that.

As RMCF says, you can only convert an area measurement to another unit of area. So square feet to square metres or square yards.

The room measurements you have are length/width in feet, not square feet. These need to be mulitplied to get the area in square feet.

Alternativey, as you say, convert the length/width in feet to length/width in metres, then multiple the results to get the area in square metres.

Don't forget to allow for wastage. I think the rule of thumb is an additional 5-10% depending on your layout.
