hi

I can access the WLAN on my Laptop when I just activate the WLAN and I don't hide the SSID and Security is set to no security.

But when I set the SSID to hide and Security is set to static WEP and I generate a WEP key. I cannot seem to connect to it?? I mean I can see it in the Perferred networks(Wireless Networks Tab) in Wireless Network Connections Properties, the SSID is ZyXEL and when I double click it to view it's properties: Network Authentication is open, Data encryption is WEP, "The key is provided for me automatically" is ticked. But How do I connect? Obviously I am not sure if this is set right so any advice is appreciated.

Thanks

Also,
Which is the most secure feature for WLAN on the the ZyXEL that BT provide

static WEP
WPA-PSK
WPA
WPA2-PSK
WPA2

unclick the "The key is provided for me automatically" box and manually insert the wep key

static WEP
WPA-PSK
WPA
WPA2-PSK
WPA2
Anything except static WEP is pretty secure. WPA-PSK would be what I'd go for, sometimes with the WPA2 stuff you have compatibility issues with older devices, but the other is nice comprimise. It's pretty much uncrackable, anyone with the know how can break WEP.
