withdrawing money abroad

Would anyone know what bank would have the best charges for withdrawing money abroad using your cirrus card? I'm currently with bank of ireland and will be travelling around South America for three months. I'd love to avoid the crazy charges they have for taking money out abroad so just wondering if anyone has any tips..

Great - thanks. Just searched and got loads of useful information. Just wanted to confirm something if anyone can help - If I put money onto my credit card before I withdraw from an ATM, will I avoid paying a cash advance fee?

It depends on the credit card, read your terms and conditions and ring your bank and ask them.....
