Window jammed shut

I have a window which was installed in a new extension a little over a year ago, no problems whatsoever until last week, when I noticed the window would not open. By this I mean that it behaves as if it is locked - the handle will not move more than it would when locked - however we never lock it. Indeed I had to search for the key before testing that out. The key turns in the lock perfectly in both directions.

This window would usually be opened every morning to let steam out (its an en-suite window, and there is just a vent; no extractor fan).

Any ideas?

If still under guarantee firstly ring the installer/manufacturer, if not take off the handle and put a screw driver or a spindle into the slot where the handle fits and see will this open the espag (locking mechanism), if so your handle is broken, if not your espag is broken - big problem if espag is broken.

Just an idea... When we changed windows we had trouble opening them...
Key would turn both ways but window wouldn't open.
Then we found out that we needed to turn the key AND press in the part the key fitted into... HTH.

Thanks, got in touch with installer today and he's coming round to replace the handle, which he says will do the trick. Fingers crossed.
