Hi,

Bought 5 lengths of Red Deal for window boards. Internal plastering starting next week. So I need to dye/stain them and protect them and then varnish when house is being 'finished'. Is that correct ?

So do I protect or stain first ?I want them same as the PVC windows (light oak wood effect). I presume protector/stain/varnish are all 3 seperate products.

Any help or tips greatly appreciated.

Recently did this. Friend told us to use 'sand and seal'(name of product). You basically give 3 or 4 coats of this lightly sanding in between each time and then final varnish coat when plastering complete.
Make sure you cover windows boards with paper and masking tape for plastering or they will get ruined. I speak from experience with our door frames. Plasterer said no need to cover that he wouldnt get plaster on them... they are now destroyed and cant get stuff off... aaahhhh!
