An Irishman living and working in UK and married to an Englishwoman, wishes to make a will in which he would be bequesting an apt which he currently owns in Dublin. The UK solicitor has
said she is unsure as to the validity of the bequest under Irish law as the will is made in the UK.

Is there an arrangement between Ireland and UK covering this? Or would it be safer
to have a will made in Ireland using an Irish based solicitor?

Agreed. Very informative. It shows the importance of proper financial planning. There are thousands of Irish nationals in the U.K. who own shares in farms, houses etc in Ireland. If not done properly theonly beneficiaries will be the legal profession and tax man
