Would KBC (and in 12 months time, presumably BOI) let me pay a break fee of €400, to pay off €10,000, and keep the remaining €90,000 on the fixed terms?
Yes, you only pay the breaking fee corresponding to the amount you will overpay. The rest remains fixed. Call them and ask them for the fee to break 10K off. They give it to you in the moment, and they fix it for you for 10 days, I believe
