will ECB rate hikes strengthen the euro agaianst the pound

I want to transfer my sterling savings from the Uk to ireland, I have been watching the exchange rates waiting to pounce when the price is right. Iv been told that when the ECB meet on wedsnesady they will raise interest rates and that the Euro will become stronger against the pound, meaning Ill get less euros for my sterling. can anybody advoe me? Sholud I transfer all my money now?
