Will appliances work after 4yrs in storage?

Have moved house a couple of times. Washing machine and dishwasher have been in storage (unheated garage) for nearly 4 years. Weren't new before they went into storage but they did work okay, not sure how old they were as they were already in the house we sold. Looked at the washing machine today and the door fell off! Looked like the hinge was corroded a bit. Is there any point moving these appliances to the next house and replumbing these in to see if they work? Would the storage have damaged them as such?

There's your answer right there.

Hoses could well be perished too. I wouldn't risk the washer. The dryer might be worth holding onto - won't do any damage if the door falls off. Probably not very energy efficient, though.
