Will AIB lower their credit card APR?

I have an AIB gold visa card, it has been maxed out for years. I current owe €4,800.00. I would love to cancel the card asap as the APR is 20.2%.
Has anybody asked AIB to lower their interest rate? How did they get on?
My current account is with ptsb.
I have a cu loan for home improvements and I don't want to get another loan from CU.
I work full time but since taking paycuts/income levies etc I'm struggling to clear debts each month. Is there any way to ask aib to lower their credit card rate?

Is there a way to ask them? Yes - just ask them. But I'm not sure how likely they are to reduce it especially since you seem to be managing albeit just about.
