Widescreen TV for small alcove

I need to get a TV to fit the following dimensions 84x53x22cms (incl stand)
That seems to restrict me to 26in widescreens.

Some TVs would fit if they didn't sit so high off the stand, as this then rules them out.

Would anyone be able to give me an idea of brands that have the bottom of the actual TV as close as possible to the surface on which it sits ?

Sony Bravia - take a look at them.

I presume you're looking at LCDs here. Most of these have removable stands and you can use standard VESA wall mounts instead.
