Bought a new fridge for my new kitchen and it is not working.
It is integrated and I have power, i can hear the compressor whirring and the light comes on when I open the door but it won't cool down (have turned the thermostat ..>!!!)
It was delivered by the regular courier guy for the supplier so I am presuming that it was delivered the way it was meant to be transported - and I left it the way he left it in my house til the kitchen man installed it.
Any suggestions? Could it be the ventilation around it? Could it have been damaged if transported the wrong way?
I am waiting on the engineer to ring me back so he might have more ideas..
Have you tried turning the dial the opposite direction. Some fridges you turn up (i.e. higher number) to get colder, others you turn down in number to make it colder so it may be possible its in defrost mode.
Read the manual? my firdge is somewhat different also, when I turn it down to zero it actually switches off the fridge/freezer, my old fridge was higher number was colder etc..
Check it for an eco setting, ours has a yellow button that you can press to save electricity when you are on holidays and not opening the fridge much, basically it turns off the fridge!!!
I had the same problem a couple of years ago. None of the obvious reasons mentioned above were relevant.
In the end, I had to call the supplier who called out and recetified matters. I don't know exactly what it was they did (wasn't present) but it took them five minutes.
Bottom line is that while there may not be anything seriously wrong with your fridge, outside intervention may still be required.
