Hi, We were in a few months time, going to get a beagle dog, the pocket size but everybody says, oh, good luck, they are a handful. They say they are very energetic, needs lots of exercise and are quite badly behaved, very immature so to speak, which of course turns us off as we will be in work all day, the dog in a large pen. Is this true or can anyone give advice about these dogs.

Please think seriously again about getting a dog, particularly an energetic, boisterous dog, if you are both going to be out at work all day. It's very unfair on a dog like that.

I think it's unfair on any dog really - it's the only thing that stopped us getting a dog (which we really wanted to do) and got a couple of cats instead.

I agree. The dog will be bored and lonely and probably start barking its head off. Then it will drive your neighbours crazy.
