J junii Registered User Messages 63 2 Nov 2008 #1 Hi, I'm just looking at GE here http://research.tdameritrade.com/public/stocks/overview/overview.asp and it says the market cap is 194.2B but on google finance it says 204.77B http://finance.google.com/finance?q=ge It also says on Ameritrade that the dividend is 1.24 but on google it says the last dividend was .31c. Anyone know what's going on here? Thanks.

R roro123 Registered User Messages 108 2 Nov 2008 #2 Not too sure but 0.31 per quarter is 1.24. Goodle Finance also shows after hours trading prices so perhaps the market cap calculations are different because of that.

Google finance shows the number of outstanding shares to be 10.50 Billion, whereas Ameritrade shows it to be 10.0 Billion. That is proably the discrepancy - and it depends on who their data providers are. What's a half a billion between friends anyway ;-) Last edited: 5 Nov 2008
