Which water is the best to drink: Mains or Bottled?

At the moment we get water of the mains but it does not taste nice so we drink water from bottles.I drink alot of water so what bottled water the best to drink volvic etc or is it all the same?Does some of it have minerals or lack of them.

I have heard people saying that tap water is better than bottled water. something to do with the bottled water being so clean that it is not as nutricious!

Have you tried one of those Brita water filters? Not sure if this makes the water any less or more healthy than bottled water but it is very convenient.

Have tried the filter but it still does not taste nice.thats what I was wonder which is the best for you bar tap water?
 
I heard it's better to drink the bottled ones with the lower sodium content.
 
My wife being a water microbiologist tells me tap water!
Claims that the controls in place for mains water are stricter than are found/enforced (not sure which) on bottled water

And when i bought a fridge with an inbuilt water filter, refused to drink from it
as now all the water would be 'strained' through a filter loaded with bacteria!

On that note, I did notice the fridge filter alarms to be replaced every 6 months for this reason, so she must have a point (I dont argue with her!!!)
