hi. looking to buy a good size double bed, just a little confused, is it queen or king is bigger ? thanks

These terms are used differently in different countries so I would not use these terms
but simply ask what size the bed is !

In Ireland, a normal double bed is 4ft 6, a king is 5 ft wide and I think a super king is 6 ft. I have no idea what a queen size bed is in Ireland, I have never heard the term used.

In America a king size bed is way bigger than 5ft wide.

We use the term king and super king when speaking about 5ft and 6ft beds. In America queen size is the term for a 5ft bed and king for a 6ft bed

Super King is the biggest standard size available 6ft (w) x 6ft 6" (l)
You can get a Bigger size, 7ft x 7ft

Different manufacturers may have different names on the sizes, but most Uk and Ireland companies use

Small Single (75cm) - 2ft 6in x 6ft 3in
Single (90cm) - 3ft x 6ft 3in
Small Double (120cm) 4ft x 6ft 3in
Double (135cm) 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in
King (150cm) - 5ft x 6ft 6in
Super King (180cm) - 6ft x 6ft 6in

IKEA will do european sizes, which are different.
