Which European retailers will ship large Electronics to Ireland

Hi, Finally made up my mind which TV and Home cinema set I would like to buy.
Can buy it in a good and helpful shop in Ireland for € 1600 ( I hope -with a bit of haggling). Komplett would do the lot for € 1510 incl shipping.
In the UK you could buy for £ 900 = € 1170 + shipping, however no shipping to Ireland, same goes for Amazon. Pixmania does not have my chosen models.

Would anybody know of any other European online retailers that would ship to Ireland ? I wouldn't mind buying here in the shop, but if I can save hundreds of euros, I would be mad to , or ?

google it on say google.de and see what comes up.. use your best german and you should get it...

alternatively you could have the item shipped to one of the 6 northern occupied counties of Ireland ??

I did spend some time googling before, but found it fairly hard work (trailing through all kind of German, Italian and French websites searching where they would deliver to), was just wondering if anybody had some experience.

Amazon (and most other UKcompanies) won't ship TVs to the North either.

I wouldn't mind travelling up North, but not sure where to go to.. Currys and Richersounds don't necessarily have the set I want. Don't know of any other bricks and mortar Electrical shops up North that have websites (so I could do my homework first before driving up)

hi,

did you have a look at this one, came across it before but haven't had any dealings with them and don't know about shipping to ireland but they have a big choice. tvs are listed under 'monitore'.

if the local shop is only €90 dearer than komplett then i think you should buy there. should get after sales service should you need it and help the local economy

Had a look now, they only charge 30 euro to Ireland. Not sure if there are no restrictions like big items excluded or so.
Prices are reasonable (some items cheaper than komplett ( PC stuff), other items like TVs on par- but would win on delivery cost if at 30 euro)
Unfortunately they only have LCD no plasmas

Would agree, but shop is not local so would still have to drive down 1 hour and a half. With komplett you don't have to leave your house. Depends I guess on what your requirements are for after service. Not sure what would happen if anything breaks down and you have no shop to bring your TV back to..

Anyway decision taken , driven to Belfast and got the gear, not all I initially wanted but changed my mind while I was in the shop. TV was now 200 euros cheaper, and got a good deal as well on the rest. It must be tough for Irish retailers these days with the strong euro.

Would have thought this shop would have more knowledgeable personnel than the cheap(?) and cheerful chains, but I guess not. Browsing the internet for a couple of weeks will give you better information than any shop assistant. Right now I am actually really angry with the guy who helped me..... laying the 42" plasma flat in my boot, despite me protesting..." Ah, it'll be fine. If anything happens just bring it back to us...." I knew they were supposed to be transported upright, but wasn't aware how risky it actually is until I came home and checked some reliable sources on the internet.

Luckily the screen seems to be alright (no cracks), hopefully there is nothing broken behind the screen..Too late to set it up now, will find out tomorrow I guess.
