Where to stay in Lanzarote - Oct '07

Planning to get away for 1 week this October. Can anybody recommend some places to stay. Looking at Balcon Del Mar apratments - anyone been?
 
Are you looking for a decent 3 star.....or a really nice 4 star......or a whopping great expensive 5 star.....apartments or hotel???
 
If you are staying in Puerto del Carmen new town, the Morana apts are lovely, up a steep hill from beach but fab views of sea and beach. Small but gorgeous pool and nice little snack bar. The Fariones hotel looks nice aswel and is on the beach.
 
I wouldn't recommend the Morana or the Kontiki....although they are nice apts they are up cardiac hill! The Fariones is really nice but maybe a little over budget. The Costa Volcan apts are a perfect location and very clean.......the Puerto Carmen apts are pretty good.....Caleton Blanco are nice but they have steps leading up to them......the Rosamar apts are also really nice.
 
The La Penita are gorgeous - cleanest apartments I've ever stayed in, and in a lovely location in the New Town.
