Where to put Rabo and An Post savings?

Hi folks i have a savings certificate with An Post ending next week and with my money from Rabobank i don't know what the best thing to do with it, approx 65k. The 10 year An Post bond looks attractive at 16% or is paying down the mortgage / AVC into pension a finacially better or more sensible thing to do. 12years left on mortgage and 2 very young kids.

no problem, we're 38 and have combined income of 57k gross, both private sector, saving very little, mortgage rate is 2.75 variable and about 145k left on it, no other loans or property, i only started pension last year and wife doesn't have one. Thanks in advance.

Best risk-free return you'll achieve is paying down mortgage. Unless you have plans for money in short to medium term.
