Not sure where to post this; I'm just wondering if anyone has purchased any nice children's toys online? In particular I'm thinking of wooden toys (traditional German toys?) that would be suitable for very young children. I purchased some lovely painted wooden toys from a shop in Britain a few years ago (they don't ship overseas unfortunately) and I've tried to source somrthing similiar here with little success. I'm not overly impressed with what ELC has to offer, last time I visited anyway. Any ideas?

heard of a shop in ennis that sells german wooden toys but can't find anything online. Avoca have a few things, nice pirate ship! there's a shop in the westbury mall seems to specialise in tasteful wooden toys.
[broken link removed] might be worth a look, no experience of it myself.

Thanks Petermack and Moneygrower, both those sites look promising, I'll be reviewing them with Mrs C this evening.

This might be a long shot but if you know anyone who is travelling to Prague soon, there is a fantastic selection of wooden toys available in the Havel Market just off Wenceslas Square.

Yeah, I've bought some stuff from [broken link removed] - they have some really lovely toys and they arrived promptly. Definitely would recommend.

Had a look at this website [broken link removed] - there is one item on it for a dolls house - Tutti frutti kitchen set for Eur 17.59 plus Eur 4.99 p&p, I bought the exact same item for Eur 9.99 in Toymaster during the summer . Worth shopping around.

No affil to Toymaster

Excellent german site, in english. Fixed delivery charge and very reliable. I have bought toys from this site for may years, they also have a paper catalogue that they will mail for free. Clubbing together with friends on an order will reduce delivery costs, but if you are buying for christmas you will easily save the value of postage compared to Irish shops.

I've looked at all the suggested sites with Mrs C and we're planning to make a final selection for purchase online this evening. Thanks for all your suggestions; there are some really lovely toys on all the sites and it will be difficult for us to pick just a few for our children!

I know it's a bit late but i'm new to this site ..... thought ye might be interested that I stumbled across a FAB children's store in ennis. It's called ????????- they also have a great website ??????????? I have purchased quite a bit on it and the service is second to none. They specialise in all traditional wooden toys together with christening and baby gifts. Well worth a visit ........

OP, with a name like that would you not think of making them yourself?

Ulrikaka, welcome to AAM. In accordance with the posting guidelines, could you confirm whether you have any association with the above company other than being a satisfied customer?

A first time poster recommending a company in an old thread is generally seen as quite suspicious. Would't be run by a sister of yours or anything???

I have bought cuddly or soft toys from a co in Arizona via ebay - groovy stuff store - just type in on ebay.ie, think they might have their own website too. Good prices and not too bad for p&p.

Sorry Leo - not a frequent user of these sites. No connection with the shop mentioned in my previous post. I spend a lot of the summer months down in Lahinch hence came across the shop.
