where to go if you need to change jobs

Hi, I suppose I should not moan while I am lucky enough to have a job but I realise more than ever this year that I need to take a new direction. Where does a person of 49 trained only in teaching go when they need to change???? Has any one out there ever changed??? What did you do???? I can't deal with kids who are not interested in listening or behaving any more!Thanks

Sounds more like your having a problem with the school/kids your teaching than the actual teaching job itself. Have you considered applying to another school?.. Have you tried making your lessons more appealing/interesting to your students?..so they would want to learn (don't mean to imply you're boring)..
Have you considered writing? Some teachers succeed in a writing career like Eoin Colfer..JK Rowling.

if you stayed in the field of teaching would you consider teaching adults?

Could you get into selling products or services to teachers or schools? Or arranging substitutes for schools? Or into professional training - IT products or soft skills? Or writing text books or developing eLEarning tools?

Have you looked at becoming a resource teacher? Smaller groups etc.
