Hi,

A friend of mine needs to get her watch valued for content insurance purposes.

She got it years ago in Weirs but when she went back to them to get an up to date valuation they said they would charge 30% of the current value which sounds crazy and that they would need to keep it for a week. She needs the new valuation to change insurance companies and has tried a few jewellers who said they dont do it.

Any ideas on where she can go?

Paul Shearons just off Grafton Street. If they have a similar watch in the shop they will value it there and then. Otherwise they will keep it for a while. Last I heard the fee was 12 euros.

I tried Wiers at the time too and was disgusted at their service fee and their attitude.

Thats great Wheeler, thanks for that. She's going to try them out.
Cheers

I got my engagement ring valued in ESL jewellers in the Powerscourt Townhouse centre - good service and think it was only €40 or something like that - they posted out a valuation to me then a few days later.

Not sure if they'd do watches but your friend could check?

M
