will be going to cairo overland next month ending a tour there. am looking to book a cheap flight from egypt to UK or Ireland. after a quick search flights from cairo seem pretty dear. are better deals generally had from sharm el sheik or anywhere else?
I booked a flight only with a package company to luxor which worked out about £200 cheaper than direct flights to cairo. Hurghada and sharm al sheik are also package destinations -however since then xcel and a number of other companies have gone bust so there may not be as much available.
Yep - that's what we did as well, but the return flight got into Gatwick at about midnight so we had to sleep on the airport benches until the ryanair flight out the next day - not pleasant if you can avoid it!

We stay at yotel.com, it's in the airport, costs 80 GBP for a double & minimises hassle leaving & returning to the airport. Just remember to bring earplugs as there are a log of comings & goings at all hours, but other than that it's a very impressive place.
thanks all - eventually went cairo - munich with tuifly.com and then aer lingus to cork -- longish wiat in munich - but cheap and good service with tui inc breakfast
