Where to donate a piano

Hi,

I hope I'm posting in the right forum, Mod could you please move it if I haven't?

I have a piano that needs tuning but not in bad condition. I'm getting rid of it but not sure what to do with it. I'd give it to charity or a school or anyone I thought would get any use out of it.

Has anyone any suggestions who I might contact about it? Or maybe nobody wants second hand pianos anymore and I should add it to the skip (can't bear the thought of that, seems such a waste).

there is a freetrade section on the dublinwaste.ie website where people list things that arent exactly waste but that they dont want anymore, you could try advertising it there - might find a good home?

gumtree.ie have a free section to give stuff away too pop an ad up

I'd suggest contacting local schools yourself to ensure someone doesn't end up profiting from the sale of the piano which is more likely if you use one of those "freetrade" type things.

I had the same problem, local schools, scouts, community centre all had loads of offers of free pianos. I put mine in the FREEBIES section in BUYANDSELL, free to take away, it was gone to a good home two days later, I had another 2/3 calls after it was gone.

I'd be interested in taking it in exchange for cash, or a donation to some charitable cause.

You can PM me directly for further discussion.

Hi folks and thanks a million for all the replies and for the offer to take the piano. I have promised the piano to someone else but if this falls through then I'll follow up any other offers to take it.
