Hi,

Where can I for buy for example index funds such as the Vanguard 500 Index Fund?

Unable to buy them directly from Vanguard as im not a US citizen.
Any advice appreciated.

I'm assuming the Vanguard 500 Index fund tracks the S&P 500? The cheapest providers in Ireland seem to be rabodirect and Quinn life. I would start by checking if they have a similar US tracker fund or maybe a general US equities fund might be a similar fit.

Hi Tiger,

Thanks for the reply. Going to go with an ETF from iShares that tracks the S & P 500.
Thanks.

Yes. They are listed on the London Stock Exchange and you can buy them through any stockbroker. There are also some ETFs listed on the ISE.

If you want to track the S&P 500 index, the SPDR S&P 500 ETF has a lower total expense ratio than the iShares S&P 500.

Ticker is SPY.

TER for SPY = 0.1%
TER for iShares = 0.4%
