Where To Buy Fireplaces & Marble In North.

Maydown fireplaces, armagh. Can only speak in terms of price he's given me on granite insert - which is by far and away cheaper than any other price south of the border.
Best thing to do is decide exactly what you want - get the phone book out and ring round.

Thanks serotoninsid,

At this stage I'd buy in the North, just to get back at the suppliers here.

One company quoted me E8500, the next one was E4600, and the most recent, E3500. Apart from the price, I found them very slow to get back to me, and they all tried to talk me out of the marble I want, and sell me something else - probably they have alot of it in stock.

I'm sick of the lot of them.

what kind of marble are you loking for bluebells and is it for gas or solid fuel?

sorry for the questions but is it just the suuround in white marble with cast.granite insert and hearth or the whole fireplace as this would be a bit of a nightmare to keep clean. if its just the surround there should be no shortage of supppliers for white marble depending on the size you need and even the very large ones are becoming more available.

My friend got 2 white marble fireplaces from John Walsh Fireplaces, Kilbehenny, Michelstown, Co. Cork phone 087 2451063. She said they were very good value and great service they also installed them for her. They have a big place down in Co Cork where you can see their range.
I do not know this firm personally but two of my friends have purchased from them in the past few years and they have nothing but praise for them.

They must be very grand fireplaces you are looking at. A white Victorian Corbel should only cost from about €1800 to €2500 for anything from a 54" to 66" depending on what you want. This would include a cast iron insert, granite hearth and fitting which includes your fireback etc. For solid fuel a black granite hearth would be best. I had white with black granite insert panels, but the white part got really dirty looking after a few years (it was in for 20 years!!). You're hearth has to be slabbed for solid fuel with joints for expansion.
Where are you located, roughly? PM what fireplace you are interested in and I will see if I can get you a price so you can shop around.

there is a big reclamation yard (co. Down I think) that sell marble fireplaces - they have a website as was on it before - im sure youll find it by using our old friend Mr. Google

i have dealt with maghera granite.com in co. derry in the past, excellent service and value for money
