Hi all,
I recently moved in to rented accommodation in Cork and now looking for cheap wardrobes. Any suggestions?
[We agreed w/ landlord to get these ourselves for lower monthly rent].
Thanks in advance..

If you can make the trip & have something to transport it with......IKEA

They have some fab stuff.....I got built in wardrobes before they came to Dublin & I really wish I'd waited. I could have saved about half of what I paid and gotten a much nicer/cheaper wardrobe from them.

But I'd avoid their cheapest range.....mid to high end are much better quality & look it!!

Will you be able to bring these with you or will they be left?

Thanks sam h
Thats the thing - when we negotiated it it was agreed that if we go with:
a) something like those canvas mobile type ones, we can take them!!
b) somehting more 'solid' then they will stay in the house. [Obviously with this option (i.e. 'b') I hope its understandable why I don't want to spend too much]

I haven't been to Ikea yet, but I've heard great things...

Argos have the canvas/mobile type you are referring to:

e.g.

Black/white/single/double ....

How about the small ads to see if someone is selling a second hand wardrobe. Some of them can be really sold and really reasonable in price and far better than the new style chipboard one's.

You should also look in jumbletown.ie - they often have very decent wardrobes going for free, though you may have to travel to collect.

There's a wanted section on that site also, where you can put in your own request.
