Can anyone tell me is there anybody providing comparative data on best funds ie historic performance, costs etc. Rather than speak to all the companies and compile this info myself , is there a quicker way to cut to the chase?

The Irish Times publish comparison tables of past performance on a Friday. I think the Irish Independent do the same on a Tuesday.

Bear in mind that past performance is of academic interest only as it's not a guide to future returns.

You can also try Morningstar but this won't be complete:
- Irish funds are not rated
- New funds without a 3 year history are not rated

As the previous poster mentioned, the MoneyMate tables in Tuesday's (I think) Indo and Friday's Times can help for Irish domiciled funds.

The contain some info about charges on certain funds. Choosing low charges, suitable funds for your specific situation and the required level of customer service are all much more important than looking at past performance which is not a guide to future returns.
