Where can I get copper wire?

This may sound really strange but copper keeps slugs away from your flowers and veg in the garden, and I want to put some around my flower bed, but the problem is I cannot get it anyway. Tried B&Q and they looked funny at me! Even tried the electrical section.
They do have tape for around pots which is brilliant but would be too expensive to you use all around garden

Any ideas?
 
I think I saw copper wire for sale in Lidl or Aldi this week. Not 100% sure if that's what it was. Saw it out of the corner of my eye.
 
Go to your nearest Scrap Merchant and he should have some which he may sell to you.
 
I've seen it in B&Q! Its in the gardening section, and has pictures of slugs on it! I've also seen it in other hardware shops, Woodies and in Athlone, Ganlys.
 
How thick does this copper wire have to be? What size? Would electrical wire with the insulation stripped off do?
 
It probably would jetblue. I'll have to get out to the shops again before they arrive back
 
The boys in the caravans on the side of the road have loads of copper. Alternatively, a dish of beer attracts slugs, I didn't believe it til I saw it and its absolutely amazing, if slightly disgusting.
