Hi,

We're travelling to France by ferry in a couple of weeks and want to bring a cool box to carry perishable food for 24 hours.
Can anyone recommend a place to buy a cool box that won't break the bank please? I'm in Dublin.

Thanks
J

I'm sure I've seen them in Aldi down here....they've been there for a while now. Not sure of the price though.

Halfords have reasonably priced ones in a variety of sizes, powered from the cigarette lighter socket. Hint: I find refrigerating drinks etc before putting them in a car-powered cooler box works best. If you have a VW/AUDI/Skoda/Seat with A/C, you should already have at least two chiller compartments in the car. These work with the A/C on; handy for water/soft drinks.

Thanks for the advice, I'll check out Aldi and Halfords tomorrow.

You should look for one that can run from the car cigarette lighter socket and from a mains plug (got on in Lidl last summer) so that you can keep it plugged in when on the Ferry otherwise it won't be so cool after an 18 hour crossing. Doesn't look like Lidl or Aldi have them in the next week or so, so Hlafords might be your best bet.

Argos have some:
