when I use washing machine and dishwasher the water overflows

When I use the washing machine and or the dishwasher the used water seems to come up from the drain and overflows onto the back patio. Not too much, although it is there.

The "shore" is just outside the back door, not smelly or anything, and as I am here on my own at the moment I am a bit wary of having a look down!

Any ideas? Probably needs cleaning, but should this happen? Has it happened to you?

Yeah sounds like there maybe a blockage somewhere or the waste pipe is small causing the water to rush back up the drain.

There is a length of pipe on sale on eBay , and it is brilliant for unblocking drains .

We bought one last year in Lidl . It is 3 metres long and comes in hand now and again.

Maybe , they are on sale is local hardware stores in Ireland too.

Why not look down the shore to see if its blocked ?
