What website to buy UK Shares?

I have a US E-Trade account but it will not let me buy UK shares.

I need to open a UK share trading account. E-Trade - UK charge £15 per trade - totally overpriced in my opinion.

What UK share trading sites should I consider? Any recommendations?
Or are there Irish ones that let me buy UK shares?

I use sharewatch.ie and have found them fine. Works out at €19.95 a trade. Don't know of any cheaper.
