Hi,
Am currently completing a new build and would like to put in white oak doors but not sure what type of wooden floors would go with this? We were thinking of going with white solid oak floors too but unsure if this would look right? Would it be too much of the same wood? I know walnut flooring would be an option but too dark for my liking! Would love to hear some suggestions!
thanks.
I have a white oak semi solid floor but there are a few different colours going through it, some really pale others, other darker gorgeous floor down, recently bought oak doors aswell, trying to source glass at the mo for them tho.. its not too much wood at all maybe because the centre of our doors are complenty glass (well will be when we get it put in) the doors are from divine ireland 4v daylight oak just google so you have an idea..
We put white oak throughout - floors, doors, skirting, architrave and stairs - We've kept the rest of the house quite simple so I think it looks quite smart - everyone comments on it. You could have walnut floors which might be a nice contrast but I know 2 people with walnut floors who curse them - you can see all the scratches and neither of them have children yet!
Thanks all for your replies. Will def go with all white oak doors and floors. Anyone know of any places up north who deliver to the republic? Everthing is so expensive down here.
