We retired a few years ago and moved to Ireland. We have no employment income and have been filing form 11 for our pensions and the gains from our savings.
I was wondering what happens to an Irish person who retires from work, where they were PAYE? Do they now have to use form 11 or is there an alternative?
Form 11 is quite complicated! Thanks.
As you are retired do I assume that you are age 65 or over. If so the exemption limits are E40,000 in 2010 and E36,000 in 2011. Perhaps you are not liable for tax in Ireland
Have you completed your IRL/Individual form to allow the UK Inland Revenue to pay you your pension gross (without deducting tax) and have it taxed in Ireland (if necessary)
