What rate/how much will I be taxed on income?

Hi all,

I am starting a part-time job, working 8hrs a week, earning €80. I rang the tax office to see how much I would be taxed (my husband works and is taxed at 41%) the guy on the phone said I would be tax free until Nov/Dec and then my income would be taxed at 41% because of my husbands income. I rang back again for another reason. I got a different guy and he said I wouldn't be taxed at all because I won't earn enough.

So two different guys working in the same place told me two different answers.

Can anyone here shed any light on it?

You qualify for a PAYE cr of €1,650 is that means that you can earn €8,250 before you pay tax in a year.

Yes. The PAYE tax credit is specific and not transferable.

That's the Revenue-some of their staff can give wrong information. You have got the correct answer here!
