What percent of mortgage interest on an investment property can be deducted. It used to be 100% you could off set when making tax return, but can someone confirm is it now 75% that can be off set when doing tax return.
eg if rent is E1000 and interest on that rental mortage is E800 is is correct to say that E600 can be be off set,
800 X 75 = 600,
1000-600 = 400
so tax Libabilty would be on the E400,

cheers

The interest is restricted to 75% (so yes, it'd be €600 in your example).

The tenancy must be PRTB compliant though in order for the deduction to be available.

Is the interst relief for a non-residential investment still 100%?
